I Published the Book. Now What?
It was a long road to getting this book published.
There were countless meetings—some even in different states. I burned up my computer loading the PDF and had to buy a new one. I waited on covers and edits, and eventually ended up doing many of the edits myself.
And then, finally, it was done.
There was definitely relief. But there was a little sadness, too.
Because sometimes you work so hard toward something that you start thinking of it as the destination. Then you arrive and realize something: it was never really about the destination. It was about the journey.
And mine is still going.
Today, I own a publishing company. I'm an author, a speaker, and an advocate for changing your life in pursuit of what makes you happiest.
My name is Terri, and I'm your Beach Bestie.
Some of you have seen me on TikTok. Some of you are just finding me here online. Either way, I want you to know that I genuinely have your best interests in mind when it comes to figuring out whether moving to the beach of your dreams is possible.
After publishing the second edition of A New Life at the Beach: A Florida Concierge's Journey, I started creating other useful tools for people who feel stuck.
Stuck in a cold town.
Tired of the snow.
Tired of saying, "Maybe someday."
And maybe even a little tired of being everything for everyone else.
If any of that sounds familiar, this is a pretty good place to hang out.
Every day, my mission is to create new tools that can help you figure out what you want, where you want to be, and how you might actually get there. I want to help you see that beach life isn't necessarily some crazy dream reserved for "other people."
It may be more possible than you think.
But here's something else I've learned: creating a life you love doesn't mean abandoning the rest of your life.
At the end of my day, I still love sitting on my dock watching the sunset. Then I'll head inside and watch a game—especially my Tampa Bay Rays, who are in the playoffs!
Next week, I'll head north to visit my granddaughter. Then I'll fly even farther north for my 40th high school reunion.
That's life.
Beach life doesn't mean every day is a vacation. There are still jobs, families, responsibilities, deadlines, airplanes, grandbabies, reunions and baseball games.
The goal isn't to escape your life.
The goal is to build a life you don't constantly feel the need to escape from.
So publishing the book wasn't the end.
Apparently, it was just another beginning.
I'll keep writing. I'll keep exploring. I'll keep creating new tools. And I'll keep looking for practical ways to help you build a life that has room for the beach, your family, your work—and yourself.
Stay tuned. There are plenty more adventures coming.
Your Beach Bestie, Terri
